Spotting Scam Websites: How To Avoid Wasting Your Money By Spotting The Real Thing
Scam websites are what everyone fears when they start trying to date online. No one wants to deal with a scam when you’re trying to figure out how to hookup online, and that’s a fact.
Fortunately, scams are easy to spot.
Knowing what to look for will take away the fear of dealing with scam websites. While we’re not saying that you can avoid scams entirely, we are saying that once you know what to look for, you’ll be a lot safer, and ultimately, much happier when you’re trying to get laid.
The thing about scams is that once you know what to look for, you will start seeing them everywhere. Rather than be intimidated by this, however, you should feel that much more secure in your dating adventures. You will feel that much more prepared when it comes to spotting scam artists and staying safe when all you’re otherwise trying to do is hookup and have a good time on internet hookup sites.
There are certain things to look for.
One of the most common issues that we’ve seen on most hookup sites is the use of fake profiles. You’ll see them everywhere, and sometimes, they’re coating sites from top to bottom.
This can make for a very scary, intimidating atmosphere if you’ve never had to deal with fake profiles before. They can range from ‘padding’ profiles, as we like to call them, which are actually created by the site administrators to make it look as if there are more people on the site than there actually are. These profiles usually have stolen photographs, and they are easily spotted because it might be the same picture on 5 or more profiles.
You’ll also see cam girls.
Cam girls can be incredibly annoying to deal with on hookup sites, but the thing to remember is that they aren’t unavoidable. These kinds of girls usually try and push links to you that will make you click off-site and visit their live cams. They’re doing this to try and get money from you, but you shouldn’t waste your time with them.
There are also escorts on these sites, which can be avoided by simply clicking out of any chat wherein a woman starts asking you for money, or starts trying to tell you about her ‘rates.’
You also need to look out for private investigators.
While normally, you will only see private investigators on sites geared towards affairs, you can sometimes see them on hookup sites, too. They’re trying to dig up any dirt that they possibly can on you, and you shouldn’t give them a chance. The moment you start to notice that these people are fakes, you should just click out of the chats an end all communication.
The thing about live scam artists is that they aren’t the smartest, and they are definitely the easiest to spot. Sometimes, English isn’t their first language, so they’re pretty obviously trying to scam you into something that they themselves know nothing about!
Just keep an eye out.
There are credit card scammers as well, and that’s why it’s important to never give out your information online to anyone. It doesn’t matter if they’re drop dead gorgeous, don’t give them your information. Site administrators also won’t ask you at any point to hand out your information to them, so keep that in mind when you’re on sites.
